The desk closes at ten at night. Check-in is from 3:00pm and the desk is staffed until 10:00pm. Arriving later than that is fine if you telephone before 6:00pm the same evening; arriving later without telling us may mean nobody is here.

- Telephone before 6:00pm the same evening. There is no charge and no limit.
- A dog, a cot or a dietary requirement
- Put it in the notes box when you book, or telephone. Not on arrival — there are three cots and two dog rooms.
- Four rooms or more
- E-mail. A group booking is handled by a person and gets an actual allocation back.
- A gathering or the whole house
- E-mail Priya, or telephone and ask for her. See gatherings.
- Something you left behind
- Telephone. We keep found property for ninety days and will post it at cost.
- A complaint
- Say it at the desk while you are here, if you possibly can. It is the only point at which we can actually fix it, and we would much rather.
Getting to the door
- 61st Street-Woodside is two minutes on foot: the 7 train and the Long Island Rail Road share the station
- Eighteen minutes to Grand Central on the rail road, or about twenty-five on the 7 to Times Square
- LaGuardia is roughly twenty minutes by car and about forty by bus with one change
- Kennedy is about thirty-five minutes by car, or fifty by train with a change at Jamaica
- The Q18, Q32, Q60 and Q66 all stop within three blocks
